Abstract

Inductive proximity detector for security applications comprises a transmitter (1) which provides a high frequency electromagnetic field (cut-off at low frequencies) a receiver (2) which detects (8), amplifies (9) and demodulates (10) the signal from the transmitter (1) and produces at its output an alternating voltage at the cut-off frequency and a system (3) which receives the data which only affects the logic state "1" if it receives the alternating voltage. The transmitter (1) plays the part of the object to be detected and its presence near the receiver (2) is translated into logic state "1" of the data receiving system (3). The transmitter (1) and receiver (2) are mounted on the same support.
