Abstract

The label is for a transparent or translucent containers for dispensing measured quantities of the contents. It is especially useful for liquid or powdered substances which have to be mixed with a solvent in fixed proportions ions, such as weed killer or insecticide. The container must be a prismatic, constant cross-sectional shape, usually a cylinder, so that linear graduations can be marked up the sides. There are "windows" (5) in the label for convenient comparison of liquid levels while pouring. The lower edge of each window is at the same level as the upper edge of the window below, and offset from it. There are graduation lines alongside the windows, with an inverted scale, starting from zero at the container top.
