Abstract

A ceiling mounted suspension and connexion box for a lighting unit has a main body (1), which is typically six-sided, mounted in a ceiling panel (2). The vertical sides provide for cable entries. At the top and bottom of the main body are circular openings (4) with radial locating notches (5, 6). A lighting unit support bar (7) spans the lower opening and has a tapped hole (12) to secure the lighting unit. Circular cover plates (13) are also provided to close the openings. this box can be fixed on site or prefabricated into the ceiling.
