Abstract
The display unit for displaying one of several different possible numbers, or letters, has at least sixteen light sources, selectively, supplied with energising current and arranged in four horizontal rows, each containing three light sources and one further row containing four light sources. The light sources occupying the same position in each of the successive rows are positioned along a line which forms an angle of about 60 degress to the horizontal and sloping towards the left or right. Preferably the row containing 4 light sources is the next to last and the light sources are pref. circular and tangentially touching one another.
