Abstract

The brake consists of a revolving disc which is held between two friction surfaces (16A, 17A). The pressure is applied by means of a hydraulic piston (13, 12B). The revolving part of the brake is carried in a housing (10) whereas the stationary part is carried in the ring (11). The stationary pad is located with the aid of a wire spring (30). This wire spring runs along the underside of the friction pad and is bent round at the ends upwards (23) and across (24), so as to form a cradle for the pad and hold it rigid. The spring has sufficient elasticity to ensure free movement without transmitting any shock.
