Abstract

The collapsible lampshade is particularly for table lamps, having two relatively deep U-section hoops (1, 2), mounted coaxially and with their grooves towards each other. These hold the upper and lower edges of a shade (3) rolled into a cylindrical shape or a truncated cone with the edges overlapping, or into a shape dictated by that of the hoops. Packings of flexible material can be forced into the hoop grooves, so as to secure the shade edges in them. The hoops can be of thin sheet metal, preferably formed by stamping, or they can be of plastics or wood.
