Abstract

The system is used for correcting the scanning raster of the CRT in a colour TV set, so that distortion in the North-South direction is eliminated. The correction circuit is passive in operation, and uses an oscillator circuit connected to the vertical deflection coils; the frequency of operation may be equal to either the line frequency or twice the line frequency. The voltage produced by the circuit is proportional to the deflection of the electron beam. The output voltage of the vertical deflection amplifier (27) modulates the line impulses. The system includes a variable resistor (28) and two diodes (29, 30).
