Abstract

The precast inspection chamber is used in under ground electric/telephone cable networks, consisting of a main body (1) of tapering square section, narrower at the bottom to facilitate installation. Each of the walls has a specified number of box-outs, usually two or four on different levels, to allow cables to be easily inserted through the chamber walls. The top of the chamber has a groove (7) round it on which rests a cover (8), giving access to the inside of the chamber.
