Abstract

The electronic synchronising signal is used to synchronise an oscillating timepiece balance with a given frequency. The actual frequency of the oscillating balance is measured as a function of the amplitude of the oscillations, the signal representing the balance oscillations combined with a recurrent wave train at the given frequency. The amplitude of the composite signal obtd, is compared with a threshold value, so as to provide a control signal, when the composite signal exceeds the threshold value. The oscillations of the timepiece balance are corrected by using the control signal to adjust the amplitude of the oscillations.
