Abstract

The collar has means (2) for securing it in position on the structure and for closing it round the cylindrical component, and consists of an open elastic ring (1), with, at opposite ends, closing devices working together. Typically, these can be in the form of a captive screw (3) at one end (1a) engaging in a tapped hole (5) in the other end (1b). Apart from the small number of components to be handled, the advantage is that no special precautions need be taken to avoid losing any of them.
