Abstract

The parallel light beam from a light source and a reflector or a prism system is scattered by a lens and the lens holders are inclined relative to the light beam or to the vehicle longitudinal axis. The light is scattered within angles prescribed by legislation, it being uniformly distributed on both sides of the centre line of the illuminating unit. The curved surface (17) of the lens (10) is arranged in a horizontal cross section with such a concave or convex curve that the undeflected light beam passing through the lens is projected in the vertical centre plane of the projection surface of the lens (10). These lenses are of preferably of a convex type.
