Abstract

The pontoon bridge is for use in swimming pools up to Olympic competition size, and can be used both as a servicing base for cleaning the bottom and sidewalls in a very short time, and as a temporary partition for dividing the pool into two pools of smaller dimensions. It comprises a metal non-rusting caisson (3), with ballast in its lower section, forming a sealed space, with external walls which can provide cross-running partitions for the pool. It is covered by a platform deck (14) outside the water, able to provide a cross-running intermediate edge. There are protective grills on the plinth, running across the pool, and rails for bottom skimmer brushes (39), or on the two side surfaces for scraping the walls. A drive mechanism provides for two-way movement within the pool. The enclosed space contains a series of vertical filters.
