Abstract

The table has a fixed square central portion forming part of the base on its plinth (3). The sides (4) of the base incline inwards from top to bottom to provide clearance. Each of the four leaves (2a) of the table top is a trapeziumthe closed position these rest on the base, flush with the central portion. Each leaf is attached to the base by two arms (5, 6) each end, forming a parallel link system which permits each leaf to extend upwards and outwards. The link arms pass over centre to rest against the side of the base in a stable position.
