Abstract

Pullulan sulphates and their salts are new cpds. and are useful for treating gastric ulcers and have low anti-coagulant activity, so they can be used in cases where haemorrhage is present; they can also be used as food additives, ion exchangers and sizing agents. The pullulan moiety pref. has a mol. wt. of 10,000-5,000,000 and the sulphate pref. contains 5-20 wt. % S. The salts can include the Na, K, Mg, Ca, NH4 and Al salts and mixts. thereof.
