Abstract
The vibration generator has a spherical shape with a number of transducers spaced around it, with their centres of action directed into the sphere. The spheres are either hollow, or are elastic balls filled with a hard core. The vibrational energy is concentrated and directed out of the spheres through link rods. Several spheres can be coupled together into an array to provide a directional vibrational force to the working tool. The spheres are vibrated in their normal modes and at set overtones. The separate spheres in the array are selected with different frequencies to generate the desired composite signal. The elastic part of the spheres stores and concentrates the vibrational energy.
