Abstract

One primary colour channel is used for the images corresponding to one eye of the viewer and the other two channels for the other eye. Spectacles with respective chromatic filters are required. A television camera optical system comprises an objective (12) for the red colour channel (1) followed by reflecting mirrors (16, 17, 18, 19) to make the path length identical to that from the green (2) and blue (3) channel objective (13). The three colour components are applied to a switching unit (D) before application to a coding unit. The switching unit contains an inverting switch (20) which is controlled by a synch, signal generator and which blocks the respective colour channel to determine separation of images on the receiver screen.
