Abstract

The metal mounting frame for a door frame has two post sections and a head section joined at 45 deg. mitred ends. The end are formed with mortises and tenons which lock the sections together. Four angle section members are used to guide the corners into their correct orientations and have channel cross sections. The sections can be easily stocked and manufactured and coated with finishing paint. The sections are joined after application of mastic at the joint faces.
