Abstract
Electrical condensers for low voltage applications and comprising a layer of dielectric matl. made of oriented, polar organic matl. sandwiched between thin metallic layers and supported on a strip of flexible tape where the dielectric layer is build up by superposition of a series of continuous monomolecular layer deposits, pref. involving 3-25 such monomolecular layers. The method is used for mfr. of condensers based on rolled or stacked tape for use in low voltage (10V) microminiature circuits. The insulating core layer is more robust and less porous than use of a single monomolecular layer coating. Repeated build-up by monomolecular coating generates thin coatings more uniformly and repeatedly than processes depositing coatings in bulk at thicknesses in the region of 150-200 Angstroms. Condenser may be reduced to the same order or size as active crystals transistors, integrated circuits, etc.
