Abstract

A displacement pump (1) of the Roots or vane type is mounted on the inlet manifold of the engine (2) and is driven by a belt (6) through a speed variation gear (3). The other end of the pump (1) carries a fuel supply regulator which delivers fuel to the injector (4b) at the pump inlet which is provided with a filter (5). The speed variation gear is controlled by the accelerator pedal to which it is connected by the rod (7). This arrangement ensures that the fuel is always supplied in the correct ratio to the air and in addition, in its passage through the pump (1) the fuel is thoroughly mixed with the air.
