Abstract

Stock control and handling system for use in stores, warehouses etc. The floor of the warehouse has several sets of parallel rails (3) on which run trolleys (2). Ranks of trolleys can be formed across the floor by cross-bars (4) fitted between the trolleys. The ranks can be moved by pushing on bars (5) fitted to the end trolleys. The width of the lane (7) between ranks can be relatively narrow. After the trolleys have been unloaded at the end of the rails, they are returned by gravity on an inclined overhead pair of rails (8).
