Abstract

The device allows the relative airflows to flow over the upper surface (14) of the wing and over the lower surface (13) in a conventional manner, and between the upper surface leading edge (1) and the lower surface leading edge (2), escaping from between these edges at a higher speed leading to a fall in pressure at these edges. This retards the separation of the airstream on the upper surface at high angles of incidence, reducing marginal turbulence. This increased speed also produces an aerodynamic flap effect with an angle equal to the angle of incidence (10) of the wing. The skin of the wing is so constructed that the section can vary according to the angle of incidence, e.g. the lower surface (13) assumes either a convex or a concave (12) shape. The controls can be located in the airstream for maximum efficiency.
