Abstract

Apparatus for carrying out measurements on living human or animal body comprises a tubular member (102) forming a container for electrolyte solution, a reference electrode (110) inside it, and a seal (108) at one end of the container allowing an electric connection between the electrolyte and a fluid body which contacts the end of the tubular member. At least one electrode is mounted outside the tubular member, extending into the end region contacting the body fluid so that the fluid closes a circuit between the electrode and the electrolyte.
