Abstract

The radiating dipole is made from a flat metal strip which is formed into a T shape and whose ends (3, 4) are folded over. The width of the slot between the two branches of the T is relatively large, being of the order of lambda/20, where lambda is the wavelength. The thickness of these branches is relatively large, without disturbing radiation propagation between parasite planes. This ensures that the dipole is mechanically strong and has good radiation power. The dipole may also be made from channel, or tube.
