Abstract

A machine for removing buds from fruit trees, has a frame (1) which straddles the rows of trees, and which is attached to a tractor three point linkage by supports (2). The frame consists of cross members (3), spacers (4), and four pillars (5) in which are slides (6) to which are attached the support arms (7) of rotating strips (8). The two front slides are adjusted by means of pins according to the desired working height, while the rear slide remains free and ends in wheels (10) which follow the contours of the ground. The working areas of the strips overlap one another and rotate in opposite directions. They are formed of plastic or rubber and fabric. The strip supports are attached to telescopic shafts (15a) which end in pulleys (14 & 15) connected to each other by belts, and thence by means of belts and gears to the tractor power take-off.
