Abstract

A system of measuring the direction of swell of the waves uses a floating body which follows the swell profile while remaining tangential to it, a pendulum mounted on the floating body, a series of steps positioned at regular intervals around the pendulum and with which the face end of the pendulum can make contact according to the inclination of the pendulum so as to complete an associated electrical circuit and a magnetic compass which gives the orientation of the floating body.
