Abstract

The drum is constructed in the form of a cage, being for handling domestic waste, compost etc. with two parallel rolling rings (3, 3a) and a number of filter cloths (4), also a number of shafts (4) spaced round the periphery and alternating with struts (6) joining the rings together. The shafts are at a distance in the radial direction from the drum axis. These shafts turn, together with parts fixed to the filter cloth frames, having fittings working in conjunction (7, 8, 9) with the stator (10), thus producing a shock-type agitation effect. Typically, this can be effected by cams on the stator acting in conjunction with rollers on the cloth frame.
