Abstract

The scanner for electromagnetic radiation, esp. infrared radiation is used for providing a visible image of the scanned field and has a group of detectors responding to the radiation, with an analysing aperture of 1/n fraction of the total viewing aperture, n being the number of detectors necessary for complete coverage of the viewing aperture. The field of vision is scanned by the detectors, and the detectors outputs are used for reproduction of the image, so that a scanning pattern is generated at each scanning. The image reproducing means generate a scanning pattern with 2 n lines. The detectors consist of a rotating mirror, whose axis of rotation is parallel to the axis of the detector group.
