Abstract

There are two detectors (1a) associated with the front axle (2a) and rear axle of the vehicle concerned. Each of these detectors has a finger (3a) controlling the movement of a variable electrical resistor tapping. Each resistor is carried in a body solid with a box (6a) which supports it. The boxes are mounted on vertical arms in suspension. Loading of the vehicle causes the fingers (3a) to move, and so to alter the values of the resistances. These changes are detected by a recording instrument which immediately indicates overload or unequal loading.
