Abstract

The electrical connector comprises a main body (1) with a cover plate (2) and an upper extension (9) with an opening (10) at an extended branch, with an aperture whose dimensions are less than the external size of the cable. The cable is held in position by two perpendicular clamps. The material of the connector is principally self-extinguishing plastics, such as a polycarbonate. A number of recesses, typically four, (3) are arranged across the main section of the connector, each having an upper extremity (19) terminating in a conical section (7). Each recess receives a cylindrical terminal pin, the distance between each pin being sufficiently large to ensure adequate insulation from its neighbour.
