Abstract

The installation comprises two conveyor sections separated by the saw. Each section is formed by side frames spaced widely apart and carrying support rollers providing storage and handling space. A conveyor fits in each section and has motor driven rollers. On the output side is the counting and measuring head comprising a master roller provided with an antiskid surface and mounted on a spring loaded base. As a metal section moves over it and its front end passes a photoelectric cell, a transducer counts off the length and stops the conveyor at the set size. Reference photoelectric cells adjust for final length.
