Abstract

An inorganic glass, having softening point 200-600 degrees C, is used as binder in adsorption technique filter cores consisting of (1) >=1 adsorbent, esp. molecular sieve granulates, SiO2 gel, Al2O3, MgO and (2) >=1 binder. It is used esp. in closed coolant circuits for refrigerating plant. Filter cores have high surface hardness. When placed in gaseous and liquid media, cores have low resistance to flow, good retention of solids, very good adsorption- and drying-properties, esp. at low water-vapour partial pressures.
