Abstract

The union is for use with medical and veterinary syringe needles and catheters and has at one of its open ends a female cone, with an automatic valve (14). This allows passage of fluid when the male cone of a syringe etc. is connected, but shuts it off immediately on removal. the union is Y-shaped two of the branches being for the fluid, while the third (13) accommodates the valve and its spring (17). The two fluid branches (11, 12) are directly in line with each other. The valve can be so arranged as to free the fluid passage entirely, thus allowing insertion of an injection needle, etc. through the two fluid branches.
