Abstract

A bandage for setting limbs comprises a flat flexible tube contg. a mixt. of reagents which react to form a foam material, the tube being pref. heat sealed together at spaced positions to form pockets contg. predetermined quantities of the reagents. To use the bandage the reagents are caused to react to produce the foam and the bandage is applied to the limb and moulded before it sets to form a cast. The material produces a cast which is lighter than plaster of Paris and can be easily cut with scissors to allow removal. The cast has a degree of flexibility which makes it more resistant to knocks. The foam may be polyurethane and the flexible tube may be PVC or a cellulosic film coated with a polyethylene/polypropylene copolymer and polyvinyl alcohol.
