Abstract

The battery cages (1) have a drinker tube (3) connected to a tank. The tube is attached by means of loops (16) at the ends of cables (6). The latter are lifting cables and are attached by clamps (15) to a cable (7) of which one end is fixed around the drum of an adjustment winch. The other end passes over a roller and ending in a counter-weight which provides the necessary tension. In the side walls of the cages are guide slots in which the tubes slide and in which they are set to the height appropriate to the size of bird, this is accomplished by a horizontal movement of cable (7) which is translated into a vertical movement of cable (6).
