Abstract

The partition is for use in refrigerating cabinets accommodating meal trays both with hot and cold foods, and providing between the hot and cold sections a sealed continuous thermal barrier. It has a rigid tubular framework (1) of metal supporting two insulating components of hard non-distorting synthetic material (4, 5). Between these there slides a component (12) of the same material, movable in the vertical plane, and thrust by springs against the mating face of the upper stationary component (4). The vertically movable component can slide on two rods, round which thrust springs fit. It can be attached to the lower stationary one by connecting rods actuated by a control rod, so as to allow it to be pulled clear when a tray is inserted.
