Abstract
Auxiliary system for use in flight navigation particularly on landing. The system is formed by an electromagnetic system that may or may not be linked to the flight panel instrument and will give the pilot permanent indications in relation to the surroundings and the landing strip concerned. A pulse transmitter receiver (1) is fitted on board linked to a mechanically operated aerial (5). The system incorporates at least one reply beacon (10) on the ground receiving the pulses at one frequency and retransmitting them at another. There is a high frequency direction finder (3) on board directing the received signals to a special receiver (6). There is also a special signal processing unit (7) operating in conjunction with the special receiver and the aerial drive system.
