Abstract

The submarine electroacoustic transducer has its piezoelectric elements, intermeshing electrodes and the frame placed in a rigid cylindrical case open at one side. Its bottom forms the sound head, and the thickness of its side walls and bottom are constant. The frame preferably has least one groove in which an O-ring(s) seals it in the case. The cylindrical case may be enclosed in a watertight elastic sheath, open at the sound head side, and surrounding by its other end the transmission cable. The transducer is applicable to echo sounding sounding equipment, submarine microphones and transmission devices.
