Abstract

Percussive drilling machine includes a reversible motor mounted in a housing and driving through a gearbox a drilling spindle of the machine. The drilling spindle is subjected to axial percussive movements by an axially movable spring loaded gear of the gearbox engaging with ratchet teeth circularly spaced on its side geometrically identical ratchet teeth of adjoining gear of the gearbox. The mass of the gear subjecting the drilling spindle to the percussive movements is considerably greater than the mass of other gears in the gearbox. Both of the gears which are fitted with the ratchet teeth are mounted on the drilling spindle by means of ball coupling which allow them to rotate freely on the spindle in one direction and lock with the spindle in the other direction. During percussive drilling of the machine the gears are rotating in opposite directions.
