Abstract
The runners (22,200) are spaced by a distance slightly greater than the thickness of the disc (4), and the streams of air entrained by the disc form a cushion between the latter and each of the runners (22,200). The position of the disc (4) between the two air cushions can be adjusted by modifying the aerodynamic forces via an air channel in one of the runners (22,200). The optical read-out of the disc (4) is effected via an opening (223) in the main runner (22) and the auxiliary runner (200) is provided with an air channel (212) connected to an aspirator turbine controlling the air flow in the channel (212) to guide the disc (4).
