Abstract

This pipe joint is formed by two parts fitting into each other and including frontal surfaces facing each other. A sealing element is placed inside a cavity on the frontal surface of one of the parts and is pressed against the opposite surface. The elastic element is fitted in the sealing element and may exert a given pressure upon the surfaces of two sealing elements in two opposite directions against the surfaces of the two elements. The elastic element may have the shape of a cage and the surfaces may consist of several small radial tongues.
