Abstract

Dental casts of improved dimensional stability are made by introducing a hardenable casting compsn. into a patient's mouth and allowing it to harden therein for 10 min. Hardenable compsn. is prepd. by mixing (A) a poly-diorganosiloxane contg. 1.95-2.01 organic gps./Si atom, where >=90% of organic gps. in (A) are Me, >=2 organic gps./mol. are vinyl gps. and any remaining gps. are 19C alkyl or Ph gps., (B) an organosiloxane contg. >=2 Si-bonded H atoms/mol. and where Si-bonded organic gps. are 19 C alkyl, and the sum of vinyl gps./mol. of (A) + Si-bonded H atoms/mol. of (B) is >=5, and (C) a catalyst accelerating reaction of = SiH gps. with Si-bonded vinly gps.
