Abstract

The circuit provides modulation and demodulation of high frequency signals in binary form. The basic circuit consists of two carrier amplitude modulators suppressing or receiving respectively two R.F. waves in quadrature, and two modulating pulse sources providing two signal t trains representing the binary form. The pulses representing the two possible bit values have an amplitude based on a bit value of zero and are governed by continuous functions F(t) and -F(t) each having a unique polarity, F(t) varying between t=-T and t = O and is in the form of given cosine function. The circuit also employes a reference phase signal derived from the amplitude modulation and the total signal.
