Abstract

The interior of the machine is divided into a number of columns, which are used for storing the rolls of bread (2, 3, 4) and for storing various different sandwich fillings (5, 6), the contents of the columns being maintained at a selected storage temperature. An endless conveyor belt (9) runs below the columns, with separators (10, 11) for separating the rolls of bread. The selected filling is introduced into the bread roll by a rod at the bottom of each column, each rod having two articulated levers above and below it, which are thrust forwards into the roll, so as to allow the latter to be split and the rod then thrusting the filling into the roll.
