Abstract

The partition is particularly for use as a fire stop, having one or more adjustable elastic stops to secure and hold it with components losing their rigidity at a temperature above a predetermined value, and nuts screwed onto rods and sliding on guides on which they are supported by elastic components such as coil springs. The component losing its rigidity is constituted by fusible material contained (104) in the base of the guide (102). The latter accommodates all of it in the molten state when the predetermined temperature has been reached. The coil spring (110) can be arranged to bear on the fusible material via a perforated part placed on the latter, so as to sink into it when it melts.
