Abstract

The control mechanism for the warps of a shuttleless loom has a number of rods on one or both sides of the shed to deflect a number of warps to make them flabby before or during shed changes. The system prevents tight warps from coming into contact with the weft carrier as it passes through the shed, reducing the risk of warp breakage or, in the case of polypropylene strips as warps, thermal damage.
