Abstract

The cable duct junction sealing system comprises a cast iron junction box (6) surrounding the cable joint. Above the joint is an aperture with a removable plate forming a small reservoir which may be filled with a thermally hardening plastic, which after heating flows down around the joint to seal it, and also extends to the inner ring of the end sealing rings. At the lower end of the filling reservoir is a perforated metal plate, gauge or grid (11). At the upper end of the filling reservoir is a flat cover plate (9) retained by fixing screws (9).
