Abstract

In a glass alarm disc of the known type in which can electrical conductor connected to a circuit is mounted on a prestressed glass disc and is broken when the disc is damaged so that an alarm or protective device is operated, the improvement whereby at least a part of the electrical conductor is situated in a corner region of the glass disc, the edges or sides of the visible surface of this region being firmly attached to the frame enclosing the glass disc or to some other object. Ensures that on fracture of the disc - which since it is pre-stressed breaks into a large number of small pieces - the electrical conductor is broken, which in earlier devices was not always the case when the disc was mounted in a frame. The principle can also be applied in modified form for the case where the pre-stressed glass disc is laminated to one or more additional glass discs.
