Abstract

The process is particularly for the treatment of warts, and consists in submitting the wart concerned to one or more laser impulses of a maximum duration of 1 millisecond, and with a wavelength between approximately 5 and 15 microns. The impulse energy can be between 10 millijoules and 1 joule, the power being at least 1 Mw per sq.cm. The healthy tissue adjacent to the wart can be isolated from the laser beam bundle, whose cross-section can be equal to that of the wart surface. Typically, an iris-type diaphragm can be used for isolating the healthy tissue.
