Abstract

The graphic display system displays characters on a c.r.t. screen by modulating the electron beam to give black or white squares on the screen. The memory circuit contains a given number of bistable elements (1 to 96). A circuit (102) connected to the memory elements is able to shift points in the memory in synchronisation with a clock generator. Detectors (97-99, 104) are coupled to the memory and form an output signal when the points to the right, to the left, above and below are in states determined as a function of characteristics of the point diagrams. A comparator (100), coupled to the memory and to be detectors, produces the reconstructed character by logically combining the detectors' outputs.
