Abstract

The wheel consists of a rim (2) and a wheel centre in which is formed an axial hole (4) and holes (5) which receive fixing devices such as studs. In the central hole is a blanking piece (6), normally of stainless steel with side piece (9) and outer part (8). This has a collar elongation (10) as a retaining device. There is a circular groove (11) in which is a retaining ring (12) of rubber, metal etc. Alternative methods of retaining the blanking piece are covered. This single piece blanking plate is much cheaper to make than conventional types.
